These terms apply to every visitor to this website and to every author, agent, publisher or business contact who uses our forms, client portal, community areas or document downloads.

Where a signed engagement letter or service agreement exists between us, that agreement governs the paid work. These terms cover the website and the free areas around it.

We provide editorial, translation, rights licensing, audiobook, distribution, marketing and digital services. We describe process, scope and timelines honestly and in writing before work begins.

We do not promise sales figures, bestseller placement, review counts, award outcomes or acceptance by any third-party retailer, broadcaster or publisher. Publishing outcomes depend on the market, and any party claiming to guarantee them should be treated with caution.

Information on this website is provided for general guidance. It is not legal, tax or financial advice.

You keep every right in the work you send us. Submitting a manuscript, sample, synopsis or audio file does not transfer copyright and does not create a publishing contract.

You confirm that you own or control the rights in what you submit, that it does not infringe anyone else's rights, and that it does not contain unlawful material.

We read submissions in confidence within our team and named contractors. We do not circulate them further without your written permission.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials private and for activity carried out under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe an account has been compromised.

In the community, book club and review areas, post only material you are entitled to post. Harassment, hate speech, impersonation, spam, undisclosed promotion and the sharing of other people's private information are not permitted.

Reviews and community posts are moderated. We may decline, edit for length, or remove content that breaches these rules, and we may suspend accounts that repeatedly do so.

Paid work is quoted in writing with a defined scope, schedule and price before it starts. We do not take payment for services that have not been scoped and agreed.

Where a project is cancelled part-way, you pay for the work completed and delivered up to that point, and we hand over the completed materials.

We never ask for payment through informal channels, personal accounts or cryptocurrency. If you receive such a request in our name, it is not from us and we would like to hear about it.

The text, layout, photography, logos and documents on this website belong to us or to the rights holders who licensed them to us, except where an author's own cover, portrait or extract is shown with their permission.

You may quote short extracts with a clear credit and a link. You may not republish substantial parts of the site, or present our documents as your own, without written permission.

Copyright complaints are handled through the notice procedure in our legal centre.

Some pages link to retailers, distributors, festivals or partners. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, pricing or privacy practices.

Analytics and consent tooling run only as described in our privacy and cookie policies.

We take care to keep this site accurate and available, but we do not warrant uninterrupted access or freedom from error.

To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising from use of this website is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, for the service in question. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud.

We may update these terms as our services change. Material changes will be summarised on this page with the date they took effect, rather than applied silently.
